USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB data)
How it tests
Same engine and the same reads as USB-A, counting only devices on the Thunderbolt 3 controller's USB buses. Alpine Ridge may power up only when something is plugged in.
How it decides
As USB-A.
How sure it is
Same strengths; the port kind comes from the controller, not the connector. Not yet run on a USB-C Mac.
What could mislead it
- Could pass when it shouldn'tAs USB-A: enumeration alone counts, and a slow link is only a finding.
- Could end without a verdictThe controller powers up late and the tester gives up first.
