How it tests

Right after the external display test, reads the monitor's ELD, plays beeps to the HDMI/DP device whose jack says plugged (or to all of them when none says) and asks for the count.

How it decides

Supported: valid ELD and right count. Partial: right count, no ELD. Failed: nothing heard or no HDMI/DP device. Uncertain: the count missed twice.

How sure it is

You answer a challenge, and the check of the monitor's audio data (ELD) mirrors what PipeWire needs.

What could mislead it

Could fail when it shouldn'tA monitor's speakers are muted or off, so the tester hears nothing.
